Product Overview

Surface Transforms have developed System ST, the ultimate in ceramic brake disc technology for both road and track use.

Our material is an advanced Carbon Fibre Reinforced Ceramic (CFRC) which is produced by Surface Transforms' proprietary processes, transforming Carbon-Carbon into our Carbon-Silicon Carbide (CSiC) ceramic.

We are unique in using continuous fibre reinforcement to produce much higher integrity discs than chopped fibre reinforced ceramic equivalents. This ensures the mechanical strength and durability demanded by heavy road and track use in all environmental conditions.

Due to their reduced mass and much higher heat capacity Carbon Ceramic brakes run hotter than equivalent steel discs. ST have carefully engineered thermal management into each component of the braking system; This includes bigger discs, novel cooling vent design and an advanced floating bell system.

Choosing a Carbon-Ceramic brake system will allow the use of larger discs while still giving huge weight savings over a steel disc system. The increase in size will allow the discs to absorb more energy, dissipate this heat faster and run cooler.

ST have developed an advanced floating bell system which allows for differential thermal expansion of the disc and bell. Carbon-Ceramic discs expand very little with increases in temperature compared to steel. The floating bell allows the steel to expand without introducing stresses to the disc or bell, ensuring optimum performance at all temperatures.

Up-grades kits are available for many current sports and luxury cars and we are happy to offer a bespoke design service where we engineer one-off systems for rare and custom cars. System ST have a small network of Approved fitting Centres which our engineers are available to support, guaranteeing the quality of installations.
