Surface Transforms (ST) has spent the last 6 years developing its unique Continuous Fibre Carbon Ceramic material and producing the new generation of high performance brake discs. To provide you with a product which we have absolute faith in; ST has invested in and performed extensive design analysis, dyno testing and on
car testing on both road and track.
Dynamometer testing has been used to investigate the disc properties and to emulate on-car usage from road
duties to extreme racing. This was achieved by mapping the accelerations and decelerations from real circuits
into the dyno.
ST also performed testing at Brake Testing International an independent
testing company who supply impartial test results. At BTI we performed salt spray and freezing tests where a disc and caliper assembly were sprayed with salt water solution and frozen to -20°C before being tested.
Salt spray tests were also conducted at various temperatures and speeds. The same disc was then subjected to a kill test where forty 1.3g stops were performed in succession. The disc survived fully intact after experiencing massive stresses and temperatures in excess of 1000°C! This was over twice the failure time of an equivalent steel disc and it performed within normal spec afterwards on further dyno tests.
Extensive road and track tests have been conducted both on System ST cars and in association with NEWI Racing.
Track tested cars include a Westfield Megabird, an Audi Allroad, a Ferrari F48 and a TVR Sagaris.
This testing has proven the unrivalled toughness, strength and mechanical integrity of System ST Carbon Ceramic brakes under all conditions. Experience the System ST advantage for yourself on the road, track or both.
